About Jefferson Grown
Jefferson Grown! facilitates the shortening of the food chain for Jefferson County, WA residents by providing consumers with the tools they need to make better food choices.
We offer a comprehensive list of growers and producers in our region and information on why local food is vital. Our Seasonal Guide is an easy way to learn what is available any time of the year and puts the consumer in contact with the natural growing season. We plan to sponsor continuing education events to demystify local food, including cooking and preservation classes where attendees will get hands on experiencing preparing our local bounty that intimidates many people.
Jefferson Grown! is also working directly with farms, providing marketing assistance and brainstorming, helping to organize CSAs and developing an Availability Guide. Our goal is to put locally grown food onto the tables of as many people possible, strengthening the food network one day at a time, by whatever means we have.
